Yes I am amazed that seats differ from country to country. I know that the DT175mx seat in the UK has a rounded back with the yamaha logo at the rear, whereas the German market has a flat back and the yamaha logo on each side.
Wonder why they differ?

Yes, a 1973 US paint scheme... but other countries... most notably Japan... sometimes got "USA" features and paint schemes the year before the US models did... The seat on the model pictured (longer and with passenger "grab strap" to meet Japanese requirements) and may not be the same model year as a US model with similar paint and the "single seat" without the grab strap?
There is evidence of the above in the forum here... so when it comes to models outside the US it's very difficult to be sure of anything.

Here's a few posts indicating other countries had features and paint schemes before the US models got them.

Here in the UK, original, not messed with Japanese only market RX350 and DX250 bikes are something of "holy grail" finds. They are a cross between the R5/DS7 and RD350/250.

Sorry Tinkicker, bit of a thread hijack, but here are the RX and DX bikes that I was referring to.
For those that weren't already aware, that big red light on top of the headlight shell in the last photo is a speed warning light, not a high beam warning light. Apparently these were fitted to all JDM vehicles up until a certain date - someone told me that in four wheeled vehicles the warning was actually an audible one, but I can't verify that.

In my brochure collecting i have come across 73 Enduro / Trail brochures for 73
model year with the brochures using the DT prefix for all capacities .
They were Euro or UK brochures , but not exactly sure which .
Technically the bike is a 73 model . here in New Zealand , at least some of the 73
range arrived late 72 , probably Dec.
Classic Pre 72 racing here , specifically excludes RD 350's and Kawasaki Z1's , as both
slipped into the country prior to the end of 72 , but were 73 year models .
Your AT3 / DT 125 could fall into the same situation , and have been sold in 72 .
