Setting the ignition timing on RT2 was created by MK19
Please can anyone give me a link to information on setting the timing on my RT2? A YouTube video or some sort of manual (with some detail) would be great. I've seen a few videos but none that are specific to this make and model.
Thank you.
Thank you.

The Search Forum function works well, I found the below page on Page 2 of search results using the words "set timing." Although not specific to an RT2, the process to set the timing is basically the same for all our Enduros. I then used the Tech Library feature to find the timing spec for the RT2, and found it in the downloadable '71-'73 DT1E DT2 DT3 RT1 RT2 RT3 manual on page 10- 2.9mm. The info you needed is in this forum, just takes a little time using the search engine and shop manuals. There is SO MUCH good info in here!

Points breaking at 2.9mm btdc. Pointer on the lighting coil aligning with notch in the flywheel window should be reliable & easy providing pointer is square on & not bent. Just trying to keep it easy for you at this time. Here's a random pic of a stator but looks like the pointer seen there has been bent. Pic coming in a minute.

Also most important if you've had the flywheel of is to fully tighten it, not just tight but very tight or they eat the crank key for breakfast.
