Gas tank storage. was created by Yamrt3
I want to store my RT3 gas tank for a while, what would be the best way to do this so as not to get any corrosion inside. It has year old 91 octane gas with stabilizer in it now. I'll drain that out, then what.
The reason for this is I'll be running off a fuel bottle while I work on the bike and the tank is just in the way. Thanks for any advice.

I've read of folks sloshing some two stroke around the inside, so as to provide a fine film around the whole surface area.

I have several bikes in my barn waiting their turn, and I have filled the tanks with used motor oil...... I figure I will just swish it clean with gas before I attempt to put them into service. Plus I always have used motor oil.

You're right, I have old oil that I haven't recycled yet. Perfect.
