Exhaust leak was created by MEAW

The exhaust end on my SC500 does not sit square with the cylinder head when assembled and leaks badly. To square it up the rear of the pipe would have to be around 2 inches from the rear attach fitting and nothing would fit around it. I have the correct string gasket in the ring that is bolted to the head. If  the pipe was sitting square against the gasket it would not be a problem. Running in a new set of rings with extra oil in the fuel so there is oil going everywhere from the front of the pipe. Is this a common problem, if so what is the fix? Thanks Michael

Possibly had a few bumps & bruises in the last 50 years so might have to get it heated & re-aligned to get it to seal good. Had that issue with my 490 & was a new expensive aftermarket exhaust too which was disappointing.
