The clutch basket will take that slack out. Don't forget you want some clearance for heat, etc. If it shifts ok, no factor.

edit:   Just noticed you said loose when nut on basket too.   All the spacers there?

If you have the thrust washers and spacers installed correctly with the inner basket nut tight, the SHAFT (and inner basket) will have zero end play.

So what you're doing in the video is kind of pointless, unless the SHAFT still moves like that with the nut tight?

This ebay link might not work as i have no luck linking the site. But anyway, was good pics of the right side case inside & outside view & shows a full circlip on the outside & a 3/4 circle or less on the inside. So bearing can't move. When the clutch it fitted & has all the spacers & flat bearing etc in order it'll be good & hold it all over. If you grab the basket you'll likely have play but its just the basket. If you got hold of the clutch fiber ears there should be no play when its all assembled & ready to put the cover on. Or if no plates then will be no play if you grab the hub to try & move--that's with the nut in place. Be super careful fitting that flat bearing & its washers. Get it all the right way in order & its easy to get the flat bearing trapped behind the spacer.
Ok ebay link didn't take so try this eBay item number:114138446913

when its all together the outer basket still has the same play as that shaft does in video. wish i took a video of it too. seems like on youtube theres only a japanese video of assembly but they still say some parts in english like spacer and ball. i order some washers to make sure i got the right stuff in there. ill try to put it back with those washers. i put this together before and yes it was hard not to let washer splip behind spacer. it seems like partzilla diagram is missing the gear in diagram so i hope its right. partzilla.com/catalog/yamaha/motorcycle/1969/dt1b/clutch
thx for help

Trying to do this on phone as too lazy to get outbof my armchair lol. The flat bearing has the quite thin washer which sits against the kick gear "not shown" in the parts pic. The thin washer protects the flat rollers & the other side the rollers run against thick washer shown. Sorry, only harping on about that incase you have the thin washer the wrong side. Comon mistake that. There shouldn't be any shaft end play when the nut is on even if the basket might move a bit as it has running clearance plus there a spring cush in those so could move around. But not the center hub as nut holds it tight to the shaft. Shaft is held had over to the bearing in the case. Bearing in the case is retained by circlips. So in theory it should all be good & held over to the right.
