Steering dampener maintenance was created by twomanyhobbies

Removed the steering dampener from my DT1E to refinish the frame. Looking at the dampener unit - I'm wondering if it's supposed to have oil in it? There are two little screws with plastic seals on the top side that would make sense for adding oil.

Thanks, figured it should have something in there for lubrication at least.

Here's an old thread with some advice from an expert.  Note that wiper inside must still be okay for this to work.  DEET also rebuilds a lot of stuff like this if you'd prefer someone with experience do it and might even have a new one.
