69 dt250 fire after starter fluid spray does this mean timing is too advanced? was created by gusto

it was crazy dad sprayed way too much starter fluid and think it backfired. luckly water hose was right next to bike but i never expected anything like this. i think i need to set timing more retarted? i got an amazon carb on so i thought maybe ill try starter fluid.
