Crankcase halves adheasive sealer was created by Mark350
Been awhile, so what sealer are you all using between case halves, for 360 RT-I ? I used to use Yamahabond #4. Still the best? Thanks

Always used threebond 1215 or Elring Dirko. Elring is exactly the same product as the threebond 1215 but about half the price. Used both very extensively, both at work and for my restorations.
Elring Dirko used to come only as part of their gasket kits, but is now available separately.

Thanks for responding, do you have the part # you use? There are many Elring Dirko's out there.

Mark, I like Permatex Motoseal 1 for crankcase center sealing. Thorough prep cleaning and have everything ready to assembly after applying. They say similar to Three Bond 1184 or Yamabond 2. Have used with 2/4 stroke cases, also older 4 stroke cam covers. Pretty reasonable priced.

Thumperstew, I'm not sure who "they" are but I'd challenge the claim that Motoseal is equivalent to 1184 or Yamabond 2.
The closest Yamabond would be 4. Which was Threebond 1104. 1104 had lead in it and can be hard to find... I thought 1104 was discontinued and might be but a few years ago, I did find it again.
Threebond 1184 is supposed to be the "lead free" replacement for 1104 and rumor has it that Yamabond 4 is now Threebond 1184? I haven't used Yamabond in years (mostly due to price and that it's easier to get Motoseal).
1184 hardens more than 1104 did... and the biggie is 1184 sets up really fast, like in 5 minutes! I can't get it applied to case halves and assembled fast enough!
On the other hand, Permatex Motoseal seems to stay more flexible and takes closer to 20 minutes to set up... it's probably not the same as 1104 or original Yamabond 4, but it sure "works" like the old 1104/Yamabond 4 in terms of set up time and flexibility when dry. YMMV

You can still get Yamabond #4, wonder if its the same stuff I used in the 1970/80's? That stuff worked exceeedingly well. Someone told me #5 works too?

The old Yamabond 4 might be Yamabond 5 now? A guy at the dealer told me that years ago. I've used it and 5 does work good too.

Hondabond 4 works too. Probably the same stuff as Yamabond 4. The bikes have never noticed a difference.
Available at any Honda car dealer, very easy to come by.
