AT1 Timing was created by Clegg

Now that I have spark and the AT is running, I looked up the spec. The 1970 AT1 manual states 2.0mm btdc. The 69-71 manual says 1.8mm btdc.

What is the best?  I also want to verify that the advance needs to be blocked open (full advance) before setting the timing?

Yep 1.8 on advance. All motors below 250 seem to be that pretty much. But with auto advance it retards to 'guessing' near tdc, not quite.

Perfect, thanks. Got that done today, a little tweaking on the carb and she purrs like a kitten!
The smoke has subsided also. I assumed excess oil in the crank.
