'71 DT1 Enduro close ratio? was created by Solid Lifters

A friend just bought a '71 DT1E and when he ran the serial number it shows on the list as close ratio.  Although I had a new '71 DT1E back then and later a DT1MX I've never heard of a close ratio Enduro.  How common and are they worth any more than the regular DT1?

My "68 dt1 had perfect ratio spacing when compared to when they changed to the fine tooth gears with a big step to 5th gear. Very annoying for motocross. But the coarse tooth ones were spindly gears & I broke the third gear big wheel on mine & poked a hole in the bottom. 30 years later I used one of those gear sets on my 360 with the same result (slow learner me). Mightve been "71 when they changed to fine tooth not sure any more. So far as what came out with officialy close ratio & what didn't I don't know. I didn't know that existed until mentioned here long ago. First models had the 4th 5th selector wrapped around the drum. The change to fine tooth had the normal two selector shafts that carried on through the years. Just bumping this post up to stir it up a bit. Cheers.

Your name "solid lifters" reminds me of how stupid I was once (still am lol) my "72 Ford falcon xa 4.1 motor went all tappety after climbing a long incline towing trailer load of bikes. Mightve only been the first cylinder but was bad so stopped & lifted the cover then cranked them down to bottomed out I think. Got us home 100 miles then next week had all the lifters out & found when oiled up I could jack the car off the ground with them. So back together--umm--then found motor was almost empty of oil. Stood in the bad boy corner for a long time after that lol. That was about 40 years ago. Not getting any better nowadays sometimes.
