Help figuring out bikes original color/model by vin was created by Gr8uncleal

The schedule in the VIN library here (see link below) shows yours as a 1971 model DT1E, colour Mandarin Orange.

Frames were often, but not always, manufactured and date stamped the year prior to them being actually used.

I've no idea why Yamaha stuck a 'F' in the VINs!
