I recently acquired this ’68 DT1. I am very fortunate to have such an excellent example. This was restored 15 years ago by one of the best guys in the business. He used many NOS parts that he acquired back when they were more readily available. I’ve seen some recent posts by forum members describing the difficulty finding parts for restoration projects currently underway. As most of us know the ’68 had a fairly low production number and many of the parts are unique to that year. I was 13 when Yamaha originally released this. I was too young and small at the time and didn’t pay much attention to it so I got a ’68 Honda Mini Trail which I out grew and moved up to a Yamaha 100 Trailmaster. Then in ’71 I got my first real bike. A ’71 DT1-E 250.

The hours spent riding my Enduros is not deducted from my life span.

That is so beautiful.  Looks like it just rolled off the showroom floor!
