DT1C Sprocket Gearing was created by Phils2888

I’m getting close to finishing my 1970 DT1 Restoration. Last time I rode this bike, about 35 years ago was serious trail only, and the gearing was 14/47.  With the restoration I anticipate more road than off road riding.  The old gears are in great shape, but want to get a new chain, so if I need to change gearing, now is the time.  Any suggestions on gearing?  Thanks. Phil

Stock gearing for your bike was 14 / 44 . Your current gearing is close to one tooth
down from stock on the front sprocket . If you fitted a 15 t front you would be close to stock ,
and a 16 t front would give a higher cruising speed on the road .
