1970 DT1 C Exhaust Baffle was created by Phils2888

What are the differences in exhaust baffles between a 1970 DT1-C and a 1971 DT1-E exhaust Baffle for the Enduro model?  According to Partzilla the pipes are the same but the baffles are totally different.  I have previously purchased a baffle for my 70 (291-14752-00-00) and the OD was too narrow  for the end of the exhaust pipe and I’m wondering if the 71 model (291-14752-30-00) will fit?
thanks.

What is the OD of the baffle you currently have. I can measure the ID of my 70 DT1 pipe to see if we match. I only have the silencer but need to get the end tip still.

This has come up previously . During DT1 B production , and through DT1 C run ,
the exhaust pipe was changed , along with the Baffle ( Silencer ) and outlet pipe .
Unfortunately , it isn't shown in parts books , or parts fiches .
The part number for the silencer is    214-14753-01
the part number for the outlet is        214-14752-00

The silencer was fitted to HT1 , LT2/3 , AT1/2/3 , CT1/2/3 , so obtaining a used one
probably isn't too hard .

The exhaust pipe used , was also different to 71 DT1 E .

.

Phil . . . here's the specs you were wondering about, from a 291-14752-30
Just under 48mm diameter, and 4" long . . . the very end flares out to Just over 50mm to prevent total entrance into the pipe.

Adguy2112, I don’t have a baffle.  My pipe ID is approx 1.5”.

Enduronut, Thanks!  That looks to be too wide for my outlet pipe which has an ID of about 1.5”.
Thanks.

Swoop56, Interesting information!  I will keep an eye out for those two parts.
Thanks!

I’ll measure mine when I get home. I have the silencer but not the end but I can at least get you a constant.

My pipe is also 1.5” ID. I have the silencer installed with a 3/4” strip of metal screwed to the silencer Then bolted through the hole on the exhaust pipe to keep the silencer from popping out when starting. Frankly it runs much better with an open pipe but it’s loud and is a indication of something else going on...likely a carbon plugged pipe. I’m on another project right now but getting the correct end tip will become a priority soon. I’ll probably suck it up and call speed and sport. She often had these in stock (at a premium) but would probably be willing to measure the OD of what they have before shipping it to ensure you get the correct part.
