1) Would someone be able to confirm, or otherwise, that the colour of this headlight bucket is California Orange?

2) Is the high beam warning light (see second photo) an early version of the fitment?

Thanks very much.

I'm not good with colors but if you are asking if the high beam indicator is an original Yamaha part the answer is yes.  That style was used in 1970 and maybe even 1971?

(It would help if you asked questions in English

Thanks Mark.

Regarding spelling, to nick someone else's quote, I could agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong!

I bought the complete headlight just to get the lens with a replaceable bulb facility. It was listed as for a 1970 model but, as I think that was green, the listing was wrong. As 1969 model was Californian Orange (pretty close to my Portuguese Orange RD350B) and the exploded diagram in the parts manual shows a high beam bulb holder very much like the one fitted in mine for the 1969, I'm thinking it's for a 1969 bike. I am just looking for confirmation of this from someone who has owned one previously.

Looks like California Orange to me. Here is what’s left of that color (Colour) on my ‘69 tank. Interesting my headlight bucket seems to be brilliant red so someone must have swapped it.

Thanks.

I think that all of my US imports have had some part or other from a different model fitted!

"2) Is the high beam warning light (see second photo) an early version of the fitment?"

It wasn't the spelling...  I didn't understand what you were asking in your second question.  My answer wasn't great either...  I think they used that more robust metal high beam indicator design until at least 71...  69 and 70 did use that type. I remember the more "plastic" one coming later... maybe 72 on?.

My RT2 is plastic... When I go snooping for stuff, I'm gonna keep an eye out for the metal one..

That reminds me, Mark, of this classic UK advert (see between about 30 and 45 seconds). Mind you, the whole thing is great!

I was a bit thrown by the apparent thread on the inside of the metal (does the small red lens screw into this?) and the bulb being push fit. I can't recall seeing any type other than the plastic twist on one.

Another photo attached.
