CT1C - Do I have the wrong tacho lights socket?

I'm finding it impossible to fit the tacho to the bracket, so that I can attach the special retaining washers and R clips.

It occurs to me that I might have the wrong lights socket, as each of the bulb holders has a fairly heavy duty covering over the wires, where they enter the bulb holders, and it is these, I think, that are preventing fitment. A couple of photos are attached.

What do you chaps think?

Thanks.

Thanks.

That might be the problem!

The neutral and indicator lights for the CT1C are at the top of the tacho and have to pass under it, whereas the CT2's are at the bottom and don't.

As an aside, the lights socket shown on the CT2 tacho in the photo on the CMSNL website don't have the thick covers over the wires as they entre the bulb holder (see photo below).

Interestingly, I've just found this listing on fleabay and in the fourth photo the wires (which are the same as mine) are shown going round the outside of the pegs, which is something I'd considered doing with mine.

Edit - Well, it looks like I have the right socket (see attached photo of new one on fleabay), so maybe the wires do go round the outside? Either that, or I need Hulk Hogan to fit it for me!

The ones you have are exactly the same as my CT1-C.
They are a squeeze but do fit.

Thanks Pete.

In your third photo, the cover looks a bit more flattened than on mine!

For the time being at least, I have routed them around the outside of the pegs.

Those are the only wires going into bulb holders that I have seen with such heavy duty protection.
