Yamaha had a few revisions and Service Bulletins for this and other kick gear issues.
So when buying parts, good to get a matched set and the parts from the later models are stronger.
(They finally gave up and suggested an engine mod to prevent kick start breakage around 72-73.... extra points if someone knows what that suggested modification was... Enduronut mentioned it here once.)

Or did it run backwards & lock up via the kickstart as all hell breaks loose if kick start is accidentally touched by ya leg if its running backwards at the time & weakest point goes first.

Bernard,
I have one .Just checked the part number and it's the same as a 69 CT1 . I also have the associated
gear . It's used and has marks on it . Ill put pics up later . Or i have a a good unmarked fly wheel which you can have FOC just postage . You can remove the flywheel and replace the rivets with another means of fastening like tap the holes out and fit bolts with locktite green.

Shyted,
Many thanks for the offer.
When I bought the bike from one of the Forum member he very kindly included a spare engine.... so I was able to swap the part !...
I am just struggling to remove the old gasket at moment.
Should be done this week-end...
