The 68 exhaust pipe was fitted to the early 69 bikes .
At about DT1 - 22,000 , Yamaha switched to another version of the pipe ,
which continued on through DT1 S and DT1 C models .
So if your 69 is between 15, 000 and 22,000 , that is the correct pipe .

Your exhaust Is the same as used on the ‘68 DT1’s. The only change to the ‘68 exhaust (after VIN 13000) was from the long to a short stinger (which is missing on yours).  The only difference I see on yours is a slight difference in the shape of the chrome protector.  See attached photos of my late ‘68 exhaust.

If you need the short stinger end I have several extras or if you want to sell the pipe I’m a buyer.

‘68 pipes are nearly impossible to find as they were a one year only part. If someone needs it to complete a restoration then as the saying goes “It’s worth what someone is willing to pay”.
