Just trying to understand the differences between piston rings for early red box wiseco pistons from the 70's.

L - is one L shaped ring
LC - is 2x rings (from ebay pictures) one L shaped and one other.
LS - I have a box with 1x L shaped ring only - What does the S stand for?
LCS - is 2x rings

Should my LS box have 2x rings?
Can I use the L shaped ring from the the LC/LCS ring sets?

My piston only has one L shaped groove at the top.
Any input greatly appreciated.

PS: I am over OEM piston size.

I think maybe the "S" in LS may stand for single ring perhaps. I had never seen a single ring Wiseco piston before.

The Early Wiseco Yamaha pistons I have are the LC type  with 2 rings with a L shape top ring and they are my RT1M and RT1MX engines.
2 1968 DT1s,1970 RT1M,1970 DT1C,1971 RT1B,1971 Honda Z50K2,1974 DT100A 1974DT250A,1974 Honda MT250,2 1975 DT400Bs,1975 Honda CR250M1,1978 DT175E,1979 Honda CR250R.

the only experience I have is with the LC rings and they are in my RT1M and RT1MX engines. you might try calling Wiseco and ask them about these part numbers. I called them some years back when I was looking for rings for ring part numbers for my 060 over RT1MX engine and they gave me the part numbers then I found a set on Ebay and purchased them.
