YL2C ignition switch wiring ????? was created by 3.0csiRX3
Hoping someone can help.
Currently restoring a 67 yl2c, came with no ignition switch. I've bought the standard new fs1e style one, as below.
Wiring diagram for the bike shows three wires, red brown blue, makes sense, red feed from battery, brown 12v out to power all, blue 12v to power lightning circuit.
New switch has 8 wires, stop 1 on the key is fine, powers everything, have a spark, stop 2 for light I get nothing from the blue wire.
Using a meter I get open circuit between the blue and white and or yellow.
I'm assuming the yellow and green are something to do with the charging circuits, is this simply the wrong switch ?
thanks a bunch.

This is currently on fleabay, if you're wallet can take the hit. There is also a cheaper, used one.
I don't know if there were different variants of this switch, for different markets.
Otherwise I guess you'll need to compare the legends (if you can find them) for yours and the correct switch, to see which wires connect with which in each switch position. It might be possible to replicate this with your new switch, or it might not.
Me? I'd bite the bullet and buy an original, correct one.

Thanks,
that picture in itself answers my question, 3 wires.
I have a friend who designs circuits and wiring for satellites, I'll see if he can adapt my 8 wire one, after all, it's not rocket science !.....
again, thanks v much.
