Street legal DT1MX. Like to see a pic of that sometime. Is the power annoying around town--either under where it makes good power or in the power & saying "come on let's go"!!
Sorry thought this was going to insert with the post from Rick C. I should've used Quote button i guess.

No offense taken, many people including my wife question my mental capacity.
But yes on fully forward. However i did buy a new used pair of tensioners since the last ones were ground as think as American cheese so I even flipped these down just in case.
Will take another shot later tonight. Wondering if a warmed up new chain which seems to be coated in paraffin like lube might be help.

It looks like my parts book for the DT1 E has an error .
Not completely unusual . I made an error though with the chain .
As you can't get the new chain to connect with the wheel pushed
completely forward , you obviously need a longer chain .
The DT1 E had a longer swingarm than the earlier 250's .
Pushing the wheel completely forward loses some of the advantages
of the longer swingarm .
If you decide to replace your rear sprocket , you could use one a tooth less
and then your chain will fit .

You may get a blank stare if you ask for a 103L chain .
They come in even number increments .
So you should be looking for a 104L item .
Perhaps you should count the number of links on your
current replacement chain , to see if it actually has as many links
as it was supposed to have ( don't forget to include joiner link ) .

My little DT100 came with a new chain in the box which was too short, so I bought an offset half link and it fit fine. Half links will wear out faster than a standard link, but probably not in my lifetime.
