CT-1 oil injection pump question - was created by EnduroDan
I replaced the line from the oil injection pump to the cylinder head, but I didn't disturb the pump or the oil line into the pump. There is no oil in the outgoing line right now; will the pump fill that line with oil? I assume since there shouldn't be any air in the pump, it should fill with oil with a few cycles of the kick starter. Is that correct or should I bleed the pump?

A few cycles of the kick starter is likely not enough... I'd pull the cable to full stroke and give the pump priming wheel a couple hundred turns... or until oil comes out at the cylinder end of hose.

Does the bleeder screw need to be loosened or just turn the priming wheel?

If there's any chance air got in the lines, you remove the bleed screw, rotate the priming wheel and let oil flow out until you don't see any air bubbles coming out. It's not a hard thing to do every once in a while or if bike was laid on side, oil tank ran low/out, etc. Gravity does most of the work.
With bleed screw in and tight, rotating the priming wheel will pump oil into the cylinder hose which is what you were talking about.
Both are facilitated by having the pump "wide open" by either rotating and holding the throttle wide open or pulling the cable at the pump to open it all the way to max stroke.

As Mark said, so don't let me sidetrack you. But would be an interesting experiment to leave it overnight with new line open at the top or even with no line from where you removed it at the union & see if gravity lets it flow, which if it does, it means the miniature ball & spring 'in 'that' union isn't doing its job. Wish i hadn't said anything now--sorry.
