1971 HT-1B Rear Turn Signal Questions was created by Jimbo56
Hi all, I recently acquired what I believe to be a set of NOS OEM front and rear turn signals for my 1971 HT-1B. The rear turn signals appear correct, but I understand that the length of the stems and the length of the mounting stud bolts might differ between models (HT?, AT?, DT?). Can anyone advise me as to the correct length of the stem and mounting stud bolt for a 1971 HT-1B? Too, is the diameter of the mounting stud bolt the same on all these models? Finally, are there any telling signs for both the front and rear to confirm these are OEM? I'd like enough info to confirm the ones I have are actually OEM correct for my bike.
Thanks for any knowledge shared!!

I think that the indicators and lenses should be stamped with Imasen, the name of the manufacturer. Yamaha also used Stanley, but probably not for those items.

Here's my rear turn signal on my HT-1B, it's the original signal so should be the correct one. The threaded stud can be screwed in or out to whatever length needed, you may need a longer stud as I've seen different lengths.

Here is a rear turn signal from a '73 LT3. It is different from the AT/CT and DT/RT rear signals.

Thank you all for your replies. I did confirm the lens are marked Imasen, so I trust they are OEM. The stems appear to be the right length, although the mounting stud bolts are not adjustable. And I don't know how long the mounting stud bolts for HT1 flashers should be. But for now, I do believe I have OEM flashers for an HT1.
I do have one more question. The frame on my bike has 2 mounting holes where the rear flashers would mount, one to secure the rear fender and one I assume for the flashers. One flasher mounts with no issue, but the second one is obstructed a bit by the mount tab on the fender. And, both flashers are obstructed by the bolts attaching the rear fender. Those bolts prevent the flashers from resting flat against the mounting tab on the frame. My question is this. Should the flasher assembly simply mount thru the same hole used to bolt the rear fender? If so, it would simultaneously mount the flasher and bolt the fender using the flasher stud bolt. It seems when I do this, the flasher mounts cleanly and flush to the frame. Too, the flasher has a "nipple" on it that would rest in the second hole in the frame tab. See my pictures below.
Thanks in advance for your guidance and advice.

It's been years... but is it possible that the stud on the flasher replaces the bolt that hold the fender?
One hole used to mount the flasher/fender and the other for the wire?

MarkT, I think you have described exactly how I suspect it should be mounted. I figure some members here who own an HT1 can confirm.
