Another new project 1971 HT1 90 was created by DaveinSC

Calling this one Barney since it’s also a purple dinosaur :) Probably paid too much for it but it runs great. The old lady wants to try to ride so this should be a nice size for her and she probably won’t get hurt too bad on it :) Seems like the clutch is slipping some, shifts kind of hard and it’s really hard to get it in neutral. Other than that it needs new brakes and some wires tidy’d up. Has new tires, nice original rims, new seat cover, new rear shocks, autolube is working good. Tank and paint are okay, the badges are on it but both are pretty crispy looking.

The HT-1B's are great bikes, bought a new one in 1971 after riding my sting ray to Al's Cycle Shop in North Las Vegas. Paid $442.02 out the door, but my dad had to sign the paperwork before delivery, I was pissed. I expected an 18 wheeler with Japanese guys in white coats to make the delivery. It was some hillbilly with a beater pick up truck, no tail gate and a 2 x 6 who dropped it off, a bit of let down to say the least.
You remember the weirdest details on your first new vehicle purchase.
Make it look like mine and enjoy the grape enduro.
