Pretty sure they are stock covers that have been sawed off... "Race bikes" had exposed sprockets.

Cover's been sawn off to clean up the damage caused by a derailed chain that broke the third mount for the cover. Happened to most of them when the chain maintenance was neglected. Ask me how i know lol. YZA models were real short from new but looked pretty trick too.
