DT400 b-c complete throttle cable both parts - Possible Group Buy?

I contacted Motion Pro a few days ago about the same thing for my '75 DT250. They will make some for about the same price. :Throttle
At Motion Pro it is considered a custom cable, if you send in yours they will replicate it.
I would assume that if they sell enough, they will make it a catalog item.

We should consider contacting them and see if we could get a good price on a "group buy" on these. The 250 and 400 are interchangeable, so the market is bigger. If you own one of those bikes, eventually you may need a cable, and we no they are becoming unobtainium. I have some good used ones for a sample if we were to do this. I am guessing maybe 10 sets might get a deal?

So we have 5 and I know I can use about 3 sets myself possibly more after I visit the garage. So the running total is 8.

Anyone else?

My thought is to approach Barnett on behalf of the membership, work out the purchase details, then do a purchase which would cover everyone (and maybe even a couple of extras). Then have folks pay through the site with the cheapest trackable shipping (Probably priority mail) out to everyone. I would apportion the bulk shipping amongst everyone proportionately, plus whatever shipping it takes to get it from me to you.

If they give a big enough discount, it might work. Keep adding your name if you are interested.

Thanks.

interesting read from the auction that was linked.

NOTE! the dt250 lower cable is 438-26312-01-00 the dt360 as 498-26312-00-00 and the DT400 as 500-26312-02-00 lower cables I laid each of them side by side and compared. they are all EXACTLY SAME LENGTH. the differences between these cables is that on each the rubber boot that fits over the carb top gets larger from the 250 to the 360 to the 400 and the length of the housing protector springs get longer as the engine size increases, probably due to a larger diameter muffler. as for all other physical dimensions as to outer and inner cable lengths, they are exactly the same. also to note that the part numbers are etched in with white, so if comparing numbers and parts list applications they may not match for your specific application, so a museum quality 100 point restoration may not be possible for you. simply put these cables as nos are not available any longer. what you will get is a complete throttle carburetor and oil pump cable to the twist grip. both the upper cable and the lower cable to the carb and the oil pump. both are nos factory yamaha original parts. 438-26312-01-00 and 437-26311-02-00 fits 1975 and 1976 dt250 only. the upper half is in the cable rack.

Put me down for 4. :likey

What I have on the bike is incomplete, so your "pattern" would be more accurate. I would be in for a group buy.
