In NZ we had an army guy used to bring one in for servicing back in the day & opened my eyes as to how willing the motor was wifh rotary valve "if that's the road version" not trail. Were they 5 up with neutral at the bottom. Might be getting my wires crossed reminiscing. We were a yamaha shop. Cheers.

it was a dual sport  I always had mine on the trails

Mine was G4TR TRAIL BOSS 100 rotary valve
5 Up
HiLo range for 10 total speeds(maybe a 2/1 reduction in Lo)
35mph tops in Lo-it was a gimmick

The 90cc road model I'm remembering went like the wind. Road models are made to perform more up top compared to trail models. Bit like yamaha comparing YG1T & YGS1 if I have my models right. And AG175 bikes too compared to CT3 etc. Bring back the "70's I say!!. Well, we relive them through this site.
