Mate passed away earlier in the year & i ended up with all his BSA parts, 90% of them past their useby!!. Before i got involved a lot of parts went to the scrap merchant. But when i spied a rusty frame in shed 6 i thought 'that's my old frame' from the "60's--i'll build me a bike i thought lol. 500 cylinder had been scrapped damn it as had fins broken but that wouldnt have stopped me using it as there's a 500 head there. Never mind--350 it is--for now. Had to rack my memory as to what went where & boxes of early & late gearbox parts mixed together. First startup was where i get my kicks from--partly because everyone laughed when i mentioned building a runner. I gave up a few times as couldn't find parts for the next step--then turned out another box & BINGO--9 corroded oil pumps so organised one. Has the compulsory british oil leaks but its work in progress, albeit slow progress & no room to move in the shed. Anyway,it's not Yamaha Sorry.

Mate used to be into Microlites so have a couple of Rotax twin motors to sell for the family. Well--the aircooled "fan cooled" one sold yesterday & i had a "plan of sorts" that if i couldn't find enough good parts to build a BSA motor i'd look at fitting the air cooled rotax twin minus the drive box on the end. Mount it crossways & run a sprocket on the crank back to the clutch exactly as the BSA has. He had 9 acres, just a retirement block i guess you'd call it, & most of the sheds just had farm stuff in, Fergy tractor & implements. Ford Consul Mk11 been parked forever, lots of things now sold. BSA parts were foreign to the family & was heading to the scrap metal but i knew what "Everything" was at a glance. Where it all started for me!!.

Wow, great job, Morley! Sounds pretty healthy and obviously shifting thru all the gears, pretty cool!
