Firearms are getting more restrictive here. There are idiots that own them, and really shouldn’t, go on a killing spree, then the law abiding folks have to pay the price.
I live up in the woods, hunting is a big piece of the heritage. But I wonder how much longer that’ll last? IF I can find ammunition for my 30-30, it’s crazy expensive… Even a few years back, .22’s was next to impossible to buy. AND to add to the dilemma, hardware stores no longer carry ANYTHING to do with guns.
In the mid-70’s, I bought a lever action 30-30 at our local hardware store for $80.00… A box of ammo was almost $1.00!! I could buy a box of .22’s for .20 cents..
The last pistol I bought a few years back, I had to go to my Sherriffs office for a background check, then issued a permit that was good for 1 year. I do get why we are at this point. One bad apple screws it up for many good folks… I don’t see it getting any better.

Here in Texas you can buy a machine gun but you will pay up for it and it better have it's official paper work or are risking jail time. Takes at least a year before you are allowed to bring it home. In the mean time while you wait for the paper work to clear you can visit it and shoot it at an FFA gun shop if they have a shooting range too.
