I'm pretty sure that peg mount is bent. Don't know if these photos help at all if you zoom in. But my peg mounts appear to be squared up with the cradle in the frame and yours is definitely skewed. Not sure about your kickstand mount, but I don't know if you could tell even if I tried taking new pictures.

thanks for the confirmation. strange enough it doesn't appear bent. from looking at the weld, it appears someone must have knocked the peg off somehow, then tacked it back on at the wrong angle. Well, I've got to add a mounting tab for the skid plate anyway.

note, the "unpainted" weld. bracket not seated before welded to frame.

more clean up metal work to do, but the bracket fits nice and snug already.

finishing up metal work on frame and on to paint. had some time today to clean up the rear wheel. putting new spokes in and still deciding on how to finish the hub. rear rim is definitely a keeper.

before

after inner rim buff

bead blasted outer rim; wheel is stamped "1.85 x 18 3G 203"
Does anybody know what the 3G and 203 mean? I guessed 3G=36 spokes, but 203? Mar 1972??

noting that rough surfaces of alum will need prep before polishing (like this one), I used
chem guys metal polish and a final touch w/mothers alum polish.

keep in mind the smoother the metal(aka prep), the better the finish will be.

not sure if I did the right thing here, but tried to straighten out the kick-stand mount before painting. It looks like it got bent. didn't want to get to crazy with bending it and hurt the frame or weld.

swingarm cleanup before paint. going to have to bring the gopro in the garage. mobile phone is a pain to record with.

got light coat of paint on bottom side of frame and swingarm. (note there is grease in the steering head to prevent paint from sticking
