Online parts lists and cross references was created by JayB
I used to use Partzilla and other Yamaha parts vendors for cross referencing parts from one machine to another. Most of the time I am trying to figure out what used part on ebay not listed as my bike will fit on it. I don't trust ebay 'what it fits' lists.
Recently, the common Yamaha parts vendors that I look up parts on have changed. It is harder or they don't show the cross references of a given part number to other machines.
Has anyone else noticed this change? Does anyone have any suggestions for cross referencing Yamaha parts?
Thanks, Jay

Yes, I noticed that Partzilla doesn't show the cross referencing anymore. However, CMSNL does, albeit that the cross referencing is done using their parts list database, which isn't complete. Specifically, they have very few parts lists for UK/European models for the 1970s models.
Whilst CMSNL might not have a parts LIST for a particular model, they might have records and photographs of parts fitted to these models. For example, I can input a part number from a UK/Euro RD200DX in the CMSNL search box, and it might show the part type and, if I'm lucky, a photograph - this is great when researching what a part might look like (think number and colour of wires on switches). However, when you scroll down, it says fits no models, because of the absence of the relevant parts lists on their database.
You need to register with them to have access to full lists of fitments.
Oh, and they occasionally have in stock some hard to find discontinued parts.
They are in Europe - Consolidated Motor Spares NetherLands.

If you click on the part on partzilla it shows fitment.
Just checked Partzilla again and, initially, cross reference isn't there like it used to be. However, when I clicked on "Product Fitment", the cross reference info was there. Thanks for making me look again.
