If you're on the Rx1 scale, with probes touching, needle should go to zero all the way to right. 

Then as needle moves left, it goes to one, two, and so on...  0.9 ohms would be just to the right of 1.

Flying blind here so that's the best I can do.

Hello JMAGDA, 
 At work we often have to use meters and for me it’s always hard using someone else’s meter as they all seem to have a different way of working. It takes time to get comfortable with them. One trick I use is to have a few resistors on hand to check meter on. For example the new shop meter set to 10 M testing a 1000 ohm resistor read .994 K 
 First you think what’s that mean ???? 
 Then oh yea it’s 994 ohms pretty close to 1000
  Resistors are for sale online in all the sizes and wicked cheep / good to practice on.

On your meter there are 5 open spaces between 1 and 2 so each line = 0.2 ohms.  That makes the reading about 1.6 ohms.
