Hey Dave, where was that taken, I worked for Yamaha Intl at that time. Post more if you have them, maybe Ill recognize someone. I kind of recognize the guy in the gold coat looking to his left with hands in pocket.

Not sure which city their test track was located in 1972, we traveled to several manufacturing plants in different cities, I recall, Tokyo, Yokohama, Hamamatsu, Osaka....
Think there was three others places we traveled, all by planes, hydrofoil ferry or buses.

What I recall about this picture is I thought we were going to land in the water going into Tokyo !
Looking out the window all I saw was water, at about 100 feet the runway showed up !! Longest approach I've ever experienced.

While this picture was being taken three aircraft workers were looking in one of the right engines, one was on a ladder, think another ladder was inside the engine.

Looks like a 747.
Maybe a bird strike or they didn't get the AutoLube pump adjusted correctly.

One of those days where the only thing you could wish for is a larger gas tank.

As much as I enjoy living in Florida that picture is one of the very few times that I wish I did not. And I don't say that often .
