Yamaha paint matches was created by Devin

I am creating this thread for all to use and share. If you find a color that is close to factory or even a custom paint please share the information here!. I know lots of people will appreciate it. :cheer: The Yamaha paint codes from 50 years ago are of no use today. If you take the paint codes to a paint shop they will scratch there head as the code was only used by Yamaha.

A good website I have found, if you know a vehicle that has a color used, that was close to a Yamaha. You can find the factory paint and order it from the link below.

If you are looking for a pristine show room paint job I would suggest using Marble motors. He specializes in painting vintage bikes and can mix them to be very close to original. He has several options and will do any body work, welding, tank liner etc. His website is below, to view some of his fine work. If you are like me and want to save some money, he also will sell you the paint and you can try and do it yourself.

I have also posted some sites where you can search for close matching paints.

This is an incredibly useful thread. Iit would be very cool when I get more done on model specific pages if we had color codes by model listed!

Engine Paint.
Dupli-Color DE1650 Ceramic Cast Coat Aluminum Engine Paint is almost a dead ringer for color and puts an incredible finish and unifies all of the unevenness that these engines have.

Thank you Gfrench for sharing! likey

Can you use a clear over the this paint for the fenders? I want something that will stand up to actual use. I don't do show bikes, I ride them so the paint needs to stand up as good if not better than original.

Yes, it can be clear coated. I clear coated mine, and it was used at Endurofest 2014. It held up fine. A layer of Wax, will give it added protection.
