I hate digital meters. Especially the "autoranging" type. They don't seem to work right on these old bikes. I prefer my old Simpson analog meter... I've never had a goofy reading with a good analog meter.

So to close the circle on this one...

Got the stator cleaned up and installed. Passed all tests. Filled in the stator and case marks with red paint. Did the flywheel marks too. These aging eyes can use all the help they can get




Set the timing. Was spot on at the factory marks, no adjustment needed


Buttoned up and ready to rumble (hopefully)

Thanks Mark.

After I got everything back together (wiring, carb, tank, seat) she started first kick. With the ignition no longer a question I can work on sorting the carb/jetting.
