Looking through my photography archives today I wandered across something from just over ten years ago that belongs here. It was the spring of 2009 and after heavy rain, all the normal rivers we kayak were too high. So we went exploring, and ended up on Tiger Creek, a tributary to the Mokelumne River, Southeast of Sacramento, CA.

About halfway through, we had to get out and walk around some downed logs in the creek.


If only I had known then what I know now...instead we laughed and portaged over an abandoned 1971 DT 250, which appears to have been in shockingly good shape. Next time I'm in the area I'll have to see if it's still there, looks like it had nice shocks.

DANG! Makes you wonder who and why someone would leave and abandon something like that???

Stolen then abandoned maybe?

reminds me of a 2 cyl 2 stroke honda dad and I bought in early 70s for $10. owner had left it on its side in a pine wooded area nearly buried under pine straw. horrible site. took it home, mostly revived it.

Might be the cheapest way to get a high fender Probably similar distance for both of us, about 3hr away from me.

Heck yeah, good eye on the head. Wonder if there's a totally rusted out GYT pipe under it?
