2000km, umm, gosh, good luck with that & stay on the bus route--i say sort of half seriously. Hope it goes to plan!!. If all else fails maybe a complete cdi system with stator/flywheel /cdi box from a very late "70's dt175 'might' fit.
Bypass the diode just to be sure, or maybe you've done that already.

dont put diode back on run wire stait to coil set timing which is when line on flywheel is mached points should just crack you dont gap these bikes
and if you already no that .good just some advise take it for a spin posability of coil is bad they will cut out when they get hot

I am currently restoring a 1974 yamaha DT175 it ran great when I bought it several years ago one day it would not start
so I left it in the garage  for several years 10 I think so problem is it will not spark I replaced the condenser and points
still no spark the stator is in really good shape when checking ohm resistance it tests good .001 without the diode inline with diode in
it is an open circuit my guess is a blown diode I have searched the internet but cannot find one I don't want the engine to start backwards
by removing it long story short where can I find an original  replacement diode man I sure want to here this baby start up again

thanks
Jeff
