DT 360 Speedometer worm gear was created by ldw72120

Does the bushing above the speedometer worm gear, part number 109-25136-00-00, screw out? It has 4 slots in the top but I have been unable to turn it in either direction. I have removed the keeper above the bushing. Thanks for any suggestions.

Menard's had a Father's Day sale on Dremel 200's. 50% off, plus the 11% rebate. I bought one, and a few bits as well, and I studied carefully how not to have it jump out of my hands and kill me. I geared up. Before you laugh, let me say that this is my get up to ride a bicycle 20-40 miles, and I did not want to change the goggle strap; easier just to slap on the helmet. And it did come in handy; I banged my head into the corner of an open cabinet. But I digress.

I made a DEET speedometer tool. (I was going to shorten that to 'speedo tool,' but somehow that brought back bad memories of Will Ferrell and Cheri O'Terri as cheerleaders, so I spelled it out completely.) It's crude and needs some fine file work to make it presentable, but for a first experience with a Dremel, I was pleased...because...it did the job.

Looks like DEET saved me dollars...again. Thanks, teach!! Yay2

If you are patient I did it this way. Remove the rubber seal and then spray penetrating oil on the spiral gear and the follower and then heat it. I also ground a robertson hex screwdriver bit to fit where the cable inserts. I then heated and lightly twisted on it for 3 or 4 days and heated it and it loosened up and came apart without having to resort to a hammer
