Carb confusion was created by MACE6772
I have finally found and purchased a 1975 DT 400. Cleaning and parts ordering have begun. My question is regarding the carb needle. My Yamaha service manual states the original needle should be 6DH2. What actual part number is this needle? partzilla lists 2 different numbers.
76 Dt 125 75 Dt 175 75 Dt 250 75 Dt 400 09 FZ6R

I don't see two part numbers listed, needle is #20 in diagram P/N 239-14116-09 which in NLA from Yamaha. Check JetsRus.com or Sudco, they should have the 6DH2 needle in question

Gotta bump this thread - in the '75 factory service manual, page 8 says the DT400 uses a 6F9 needle clipped in the fourth position, but page 78 says a 6DH2 needle clipped in the third position. I see that these are slightly different tapers, so I'm a little confused
