1976 DT175 clutch plates/fibers order was created by goatboy56

I am almost sure that I have seen here (I think from Mark) that the manual is wrong and that I should start with a fiber and end with metal.
PO has it starting with metal and ending in fiber. Also if the rubbers are there I will remove them.
Thank, John

In 1976 I believe they had the "toothed" pressure plate that engages the hub.  On those later models, stack can end with a fiber.

The early models needed the steel last.

Early model pressure plate with no splines to engage hub that should have a steel last.

Hmmm...  Does your engine number have the "559" prefix?

I could have sworn that 76 was the first year 175 with the splines

As for the rubber cushions it seem that the consensus is not to use them. Not sure why.

Yes 559 both frame and engine. Not sure about what PO did as it was about 80% restored and passed away and bought from family member. It did not have an oil pump and I have been able to get everything needed for the 559 and now installing that and it was a little hard shifting so that's why looking at clutch while it's open.

The rubbers can swell and/or harden (or not get installed right) and can cause slippage.

I'm fairly certain that's not a 559 pressure plate. Strange.
