Can anybody verify if this is the correct headlight rim for a DT 360A / 1974?

Looks like it might be.

The 1974 models had a possibly one year only headlight, where the mounting screw for the rim to the bowl was on the left side, as you sit on the bike - all of my other Yamahas from the same period (and I have a fair few!) had the screw on the right.

EDIT - looks like I was wrong on the one year only point, according to CMSNL.

I might have a chance later on to check a spare that (I think! ) I have.

Yep, here are some images of mine - note how close the mount plate is to the beam adjusting apparatus.

Diameter from outer edge to outer edge of the outer ring is approximately 160mm.

Do you have a good lens, then?

As this is the right rim I have to look for a good lens now. The bike came without a lot of parts…. also a lens :(

A long shot I know, but it might be worth looking out for a European headlight for your bike. A copy of the relevant page of the Euro model parts list is attached.

If you do find one, a tweak might be needed to some aspects of the wiring (I haven't looked into this). 

Gerry, is that a YHA125 bucket? My rim looks exactly like what you have posted.
I picked this bulb up on ebay, but I guess niche cycle must sell it.

Don‘t know if this is YHA125, got. it in a seperate box with the DT360…. Seems that is the original one.

Yes, YHA-125 for the DT360A.

If you want to widen your options, pretty sure that the RD125/200 headlight and bowl is the same size, so you could find one, paint it silver and fit a 6v bulb (if you haven't converted to 12v).
