Unicorn indeed. The frame is the same as dt1c 175 model of 1972 according to csmnl . I have an at2 125 aswell and can't understand why Yamaha didn't use the same gear change mechanism on the dt range. So many links just to move the position of the gear lever back a couple of inches and on my one pretty much every joint was so worn out it wouldn't go into gear.

I'm afraid it's a long way from being run up, just sourcing all the main bits while the frame is away being repaired and powder coated.

This is the second time you said that. I'm not sure what you're looking at on CMSNL but the 1971 DT1c is a larger 250cc bike with a larger frame and isn't anywhere close to your 1976 DT175c... other than they are both motorcycles with two wheels and an engine. Some generic parts like bolts and light bulbs might be the same, but not much else...
1974 was a major redesign year for most models... the 175 in the USA got a completely new frame and engine based on the YZ125. That goofy shift linkage was used from 74-76 on the US 175... one of my least favorite changes Yamaha made. They finally got rid of the linkage on the monoshock models. Your bike is a "transition" model that has some of the internal engine changes from the redesigned monoshock engine.

Pretty sure that there is a bug in the CMSNL parts lists, in that they show a lot of parts for later bikes as fitting the DT1C.
