Oil tank draining into transmission?

Oil tank draining into transmission? was created by Superdad60

1976 DT400C
Runs great
However:
When I park for 2 weeks all the oil in the tank ends up in the transmission
Then when start up, the transmission overflow pukes out combo oil as there is like 3 quarts in there. Checked oil pump side case and no oil
I thought the two were completely isolated and have beat my head on the wall trying to search and find out if anyone had the similar issue?
Thoughts? What am I missing?
Any expertise appreciated

Oil pump drive shaft seal in clutch cover is bad or missing.

Yes, it presses into clutch cover from inside so cover needs to be removed to get to it.
