That's correct Mark . . . the unsuccessful swap that I was referring to, was between the 1974 125 & 175 DT models
Surprisingly, the 125 has a longer tank .... that also helps explain why the 125's have a shorter seat then the 175's during those years.

How close is the 78 tank to fitting the 81? no where near? or something you can fabricate to make it work?
