74 DT360 Chain Question was created by beerens20

I need a new chain for my 360.  The manual says I need a 520Ds-104L.  I did a google search and found a couple but I am confused.  One search result is a 520-104 X-ring but the amazon fitment guide says it won't fit my year/make motorcycle.

What exactly do I need to look for in a chain to get a proper replacement?  I want to make sure I don't buy the wrong thing and have to deal with the headache of exchanging it.  There are no local dealers that sell them.

Will any 520-104 fit or are there some other considerations?  I know there are O-ring and non O-ring versions... does that matter?

::Edit:: I am seeing a bunch of 502 chains but none that are 104 links.  I am guessing I can buy whatever is closest (110) and cut to length?

Perfect thank you!  I will look into DID chains and see what they offer.

Appreciate the insight.

O-ring chains often do not fit these older bikes.  They are wider and rub the cases on some models.
