Hi guys, well it turned out to be bad ground, added a ground wire to the negative side of battery so all is well there. I have everything working correctly except right rear turn signal and tail light. Rear turn signal wont come on at all and tail light blinks with right turn signal on. I tried grounding right rear turn signal with no luck. I know I saw something here about tail light blinking with turn signal on but can't remember where or what was the cause. Anyway I hope all here in the States (colonies to you guys across the pond), are having a good Memorial day...

Update: I figured out the taillight issue though I need to check the bulb since the light isn't actually coming on but brake light is working. I remembered that I didn't have the front brake lever on which was causing the actuator pin in there to be out (if that make sense), so I put the brake lever on and connected the front brake. Hope all that is clearer than mud...

The old "faulty earth trick". We've all been caught out by that at some stage. Great ya found it.

Thanks Morley, now if I can just figure out why the taillight doesn't come on but headlight does, hoping it's just the bulb, and of course figure out why the darn right rear signal isn't working. If I can get those two sorted my electrical system will be good to go.

Is your tail light DC off the battery or AC like our models. Of course brake light is DC. Had some weird things with cheap bulbs at times with DC brake filament leaning over & touching the AC tail filament. Unlikely--but!!.

Good morning Morley (well it's morning here), You're asking the wrong guy if the tail light is AC, I'm lucky I've gotten this far with the electrical. I'm going to check the bulb today and hope that's the issue. The replacement tail light is a cheap e-bay part but it's the only one I could find, the original had some rust on the chrome so I wanted to replace it.

Yes i think the US ones might have DC tail lights. [not sure what year that started though? if not always the case]. But if that 'is' the case & DC i'd expect it to be powered by a light brown. If run off the mag with the headlight i'd think it'd be blue. Happy to be corrected by someone [everyone] but my long term memory is better than short term [sorry what was the question again lol].

I have the Vape 12v, both headlight and tail light run off the battery, I think lol at least the headlight comes on with just the key and if I remember correctly (it's been a few months since I tore this bike down), the tail light also comes on with just the key.

I think DC = off battery and AC when engine running.

Still probably a blue wire for DC, but a different circuit from the blues for the clocks lighting! This confused me for a while when I was testing some CT looms for continuity.
