76 DT400 mistery plug was created by AirborneSilva

Hey guys and gal, I'm finally getting to the wiring on my DT400 restoration and for the life of me I can't figure out what the plug in the picture below belongs to.  I don't remember unpluging it and didn't include it in any of my pictures but there it is.  Any help would as always be appreciated!

Wire colors tell the story please?.
Does it go to the stator loom.
Where is it situated.
My guess [only a guess] is it carries a green/red--white/red--black & comes from the CDI box to match up with the stator plug.

Hey Morley, the plug has three black wires one of which has a white stripe. It's situated just above the rear brake light switch. Hope that helps, if not I can try and get a better picture of the area. Thanks...

Morning Tony.

Could be one of the plugs to your CDI unit - other end MIGHT be orange, black and black/white.

Thanks Alan and good morning to you too. I guess that would explain why I don't remember it being attached to anything since I put the Vape 12v system on before deciding to tear it down for restoration.

That would make sense.

I guess just wait for others to confirm that it is now redundant.

Thanks Alan, I'm going to try and finish up the wiring today.  Yesterday it scrambled my brain a bit so I took a rest.  Reading the schematic and trying to figure out dark brown from brown as well as other colors on the near 50 year old wire harness was a bit frustrating

Here's a "75 color wiring diagram which is likely the same as "76 using the early style trigger coil.
Colors are hard to determine between green [with white stripe] & black [with white stripe].
Black/white are kill switch ignition off related.
G/W & R/W are trigger related.
But anyway--forget all that if you're running a new complete ignition.
Rest of the wiring could be relevant.
I hate looking at wiring diagrams--does my head in lol.

Thank you Morley, I've searched for a color schematic but haven't been able to find one, now if you'll just remember to post it (I've done that more than once

).  I agree, looking at diagrams and then the mess of wires scrambles my brain, I had to take a break...
