Swingarm bushing install was created by AirborneSilva

Hey guys, hope you're all having the weekend you want.  I'm finally beginning putting my DT400 back together and am about to put the swing arm on with new bushings, are they nylon bushings supposed to be a tight fit?  Thanks, Tony

Hello Tony.

Yes.

Make sure that there is nothing narrowing the hole in the swing arm - eg residual powder coating.

Hi Alan,  Thanks I did get it.  I also made sure the holes were cleaned out, also put them in the freezer for about an hour, not sure if it helped, and used a rubber mallet to tap them in.  Swingarm is on and feels good

somehow I misplaced the lock washer so I'll have to get one from the hardware store.  Thanks again.

Hey Wes, I have a home warranty so I don't have to deal with crap like that. It will be fairly slow getting things back together but hope to have it done by March sometime. I'll be ordering parts as I'm putting it back together and find the old parts are not up to the level I want. I put the bottom end of the engine in today, got the forks on and was going to put the headlight on then start running the wires but I can't find those two plastic parts that go in the headlight bucket. I want to re-chrome my wheels too, if money allows and put new stainless steel spokes on. Lots to do still but at least I've started.
