DT400 Reed Valve was created by Andy_C
Now that I have got my DT running pretty well, I have been wondering whether I need to look at the reed valve or not.
I assume that the bike will still be fitted with the original steel? petals as I have never taken a look.
Given that the bike starts and runs pretty well should I just leave well alone, or is it worthwhile fitting some modern carbon fibre petals?
Do modern petals give any performance improvements - some manufacturers claim that the do, but I would appreciate a "real world" view.
I welcome your opinions.
Thanks

If it ain't broke, don't fix it!
If you're looking for something to fettle with, then time to buy another project!

That is the approach I normally take, but thought I would ask.
Not enough room in the garage for any more projects, but there is fettling to be done in readiness for 2023, and the little drip from the clutch operating spindle to be fixed on the DT.......

On the stock reed block they don't do much. Made mine run richer at part throttle but didn't offer any improvement in performance. I would stick with the standard steel reeds.

Dan
Thanks for the advice, leaving things as they are make a lot of sense, especially as it seems to be working just fine.
More important that I fix the slight weep on the clutch shaft !!
