Hi guys, well here we go with my least favorite issue - electrical...  I converted my DT400C more than a year and a half ago and all was working great, all lights, horn and started amazingly easy, then I had a runaway throttle, the flywheel spun on the crank so I was having an issue getting that to stay in time, then I detached my bicep and just put the bike aside.  Now a year and a half later I decided to get back on it, after watching a youtube video of a guy using valve past to take a burr off his crank I decided to do the same with mine which worked, now it will stay in time and starts well.  Problem is now my headlight and taillight no longer work, virtually everything else does, turn signals, brake light and horn are all fine.  I have replaced the stator and regulator with no luck...  Ideas?  Thanks, Tony

How did you rewire your headlight with the VAPE? There are a couple ways to do it.

Doesn't explain taillight though... that's still on the original circuit.

Thanks for the help Mark, you helped me out when I originally installed this.  Here's a link to the instructions, which I followed, electrical connections begin on page 7.  Also, page 8 step 8 says to connect the three wires together but I only have two on the plug.  And another thing confusing me (not hard to do), in the picture I'm holding a yellow wire with white stripe that I put a connector on back then and don't know where the heck that goes, I did try connecting it with the other two wires but that didn't work.  It should also be noted I did test with motor off but instructions says headlight and taillight work with motor off.  Hope all that makes sense...

Blimey, detatched bicep isn't good. Hope it's healed well. Hope DT400 didn't cause it. Nearest i can relate is dislocated Clavical which looks like it's called AC joint on google. Wasn't good either. Caused by my CR250 Elsinore--well cause by me really. Can't help with the lights sorry. Too modern for me.

Yep Morely the DT400 did cause it, my own fault though, was trying to lift the front end up a couple of steps from the left side of the bike with my right arm extended and under the right side of the handlebars, lifted and heard a POP and that's all she wrote.  It's close to where it was before, I lift weights and after a bit over a year and half I'm almost back to where I was, if I'd hit the gym more I could be but old age and a bout with covid has stopped me..  My arm was in a sling and wrapped for over two months after the surgery, I do have full range of motion now so all is good.  I now have a ramp for getting my bikes up the steps

Hmm... not sure why you're asking about the jumper wire if everything worked before?

Did you bypass the rectifier?

Or did you do it the way I like that leaves the rectifier but then engine has to run for headlight?

In either case taillight should work unless maybe it burned out or something.
